The star-studded Sainsbury's Grand Prix - Birmingham returns to the Birmingham Alexander Stadium on Sunday 30 June. Now in its third year, the prestigious IAAF Diamond League meet will welcome a world-class line up to the West Midlands as the best athletes in the world take to the track and field.
Double Olympic champion Mo Farah was one of the stars of the show here in 2012, treating the capacity 13,000 crowd to a strong victory over two miles, whilst local hero Robbie Grabarz cleared 2.32m to take top honours in the high jump.
Among the international stars on show, American Carmelita Jeter got the better of Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in their continuing rivalry over 100m, Germany’s colourful Olympic discus champion Robert Harting continued his two-year winning streak, and 110m hurdles champion Aries Merritt added to an incredibly consistent season, clocking another sub-13 second time.
