The star-studded Sainsbury's Birmingham Grand Prix returns to the Birmingham Alexander Stadium on Sunday 24th August. Now in its fourth year, the prestigious IAAF Diamond League meet will welcome a world-class line up to the West Midlands as the best athletes in the world take to the track and field.
Double Olympic champion Mo Farah was one of the stars of the show here in 2013, treating the capacity 13,000 crowd to 5,000m victory in the last event of the day, whilst there were also home victories for Christine Ohoruogu, Perri Shakes-Drayton and Jessica Judd.
Among the international stars on show, American Christian Taylor won the men's long jump, Nesta Carter was victorious in the 100m and Olympic champion Sandra Perkovic threw 64.32m to win the women's discus.
Farah, who won European gold in Zurich, returns this year to take on a world class field over 2 miles while fellow GB & NI European medallists Martyn Rooney and Jodie Williams take to the track. 2014 breakthrough act Matthew Hudson-Smith will compete over 400m on his home track, fresh from winning silver in Zurich.
